Dried fruit & nuts
Full of energy

Different types
of dried fruit

We specialise in both dried fruit and nuts:
– nuts which are naturally dry / low in water content
– fruit which is artificially dehydrated.

Our walnuts and other nuts are “oleaginous”, often rich in fat.
Our dried fruit, known as fleshy fruit, includes raisins, apricots, dates, figs, prunes, etc.

Dried fruit is an excellent partner for a healthy, balanced diet.
It keeps much longer than fresh fruit, for a practical and nutritious snack.

Dried fleshy
fruit

Dried fruit is fleshy fruit with most of the water removed by drying. This reduces the size of the fruit while concentrating the nutrients.

The fruit can be dried naturally in the sun or in special ovens.

Dried fleshy fruit can be eaten as it is or:

Rehydrated in water: halfway between fresh and dried fruit, for a more melt-in-the-mouth texture, much appreciated by consumers. These fruits have no added sugar and only contain sugars naturally present in the fruit. They are also known as “soft” fruits. Maître Prunille is behind this process.

Rehydrated or soaked in a sugar bath: the water they contain is replaced by a partial addition of highly concentrated sugar to ensure the fruit’s preservation.

Oleaginous
nuts & seeds

Oleaginous nuts and seeds are grown for their fat-rich seeds or fruits. They contain little water and, in some cases, are pressed to extract their oil. We sell oil-rich nuts and seeds:

Seeds: flax, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, etc.

Nuts: almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, etc.

These foods are celebrated for their healthy fats, vegetable proteins, fibre, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids and phytosterols, which have antioxidant properties. Although high in energy, they provide a lasting feeling of satiety.

Oleaginous can be eaten as they are or processed, i.e. fried, roasted and seasoned with a variety of flavours.

The Superfruit

What is a superfruit?

The term “superfruit” has no scientific or precise definition.

The idea behind the superfruit is to highlight seeds or berries that offer superior nutritional benefits and complement a balanced diet. They are particularly rich in antioxidants, amino acids, minerals, vitamins and fatty acids

The most famous:
Orange, blueberry, pomegranate, açaí, cranberry, acerola, cocoa, pecan, goji berry…

They come in different forms: natural, dried, ground, juice or oil
